Experience acting and script analyzation on a level that is rarely offered. Join in on this exciting workshop as you get to play a character from a new full length play for three full readings over 7.5 hours.  This is a valuable workshop for any actor to gain experience while exercising your acting muscle!

What is involved in this workshop?

Throughout three separate readings, you will immerse yourself in a character. We will hold one table read and two rehearsal-type scripted readings. Actors will be asked to live in the brain of their characters and to explore those characters on a deeper level. We will have brief discussions after each reading to discover if those character’s choices and actions seem appropriate, natural, and realistic.

In this extraordinary workshop, actors will:

1.     Utilize their talent and engage with a group of actors in a professional setting.

2.     Obtain direction and guidance.

3.     Use skills to enhance a script and interpret a character.

4.     Take simple direction and follow some stage directions.

5.     Learn more about character and script development and analyzation.

What script are we reading?

The chosen play, CrashLove, was written by local acting coach and actress, Tesia Nicoli. She will be guiding and directing the group throughout this developmental workshop. CrashLove is a dramatic play with comedic moments peppered throughout. This play is currently in consideration in numerous playwriting competitions across the country and has been named a finalist in three competitions. Synopsis of CrashLove: A day of tragedy brings the Harris family together in a hospital waiting room. Lives come crashing together as old family secrets are unearthed and everything drastically changes in just one day. As Casey, Andy, and Sofie await their father’s fate, we learn that everyone has something they don’t want anyone else to know. We love family because they are family, but is that enough? Do we ever truly know someone? Once we do know someone’s shocking secrets, can we still love them?
