MOCK AUDITIONS
FOR MUSICAL THEATRE
TUESDAY
January 14th
6:00 - 8:00 pm

This mock vocal audition provides a rare opportunity to receive valuable feedback on your audition material. You will be evaluated by instructors Lori Colacito and Kate Pistone as well as a special guest director and accompanist. Often, actors do not receive feedback after an audition. The feedback provided in this workshop is an indispensable tool that will help you to build confidence and to improve on future auditions. THIS SHOULD BE APPROACHED LIKE A REAL AUDITION!
Please prepare 16-32 bar cut from a Broadway show in style of shows on our mock season. You will be evaluated on professionalism and polish of the following:
DEMEANOR - An audition is an interview! Do you have a strong slate? How did you handle yourself in the room?
SONG CHOICE - Is this a good selection in general? Is it specifically a good choice for you? Is it a good fit for the show you are auditioning for?
ACTING AND VOCAL ABILITY - What are your strengths and weaknesses as a musical theatre performer? How can you highlight your strengths?
PHYSICALITY - Are you connected to your body while you are singing? How do your nerves manifest physically?
